About Mulligan’s
For nearly four decades, Mulligan’s has built furniture and accessories in the spirit of early America: primitive, rustic forms shaped by the farmhouses, workshops and country homes where they began. Our reproductions draw on the honest proportions and practical joinery of those original pieces. They are furniture first designed for daily use, with a character that came from years of being lived with.
Every piece is bench made, one at a time, here in Southern California. Our craftsmen work by hand from start to finish, cutting, joining, shaping and finishing each piece with the attention once given to a single commission. This slower way of working keeps the small irregularities and depth of surface that give early American furniture its warmth, and that mass production can’t reproduce.
We work closely with interior designers and architects, and each piece is finished to the specifications of the project it’s made for. Whether the setting is a collected country house, a layered city apartment or a new home that needs a sense of history, our furniture is meant to look as though it has always been there.
Our clients often tell us their Mulligan’s pieces have outlasted trends, moves and remodels, and many have been handed down to the next generation. That is the measure we build to: furniture made with care, meant to be used and kept, and built to last long after it leaves our workshop.
Cheers!
